The Armbrustschützen-Festhalle – A piece of original Munich Okt

The Armbrustschützen tent at the Munich Oktoberfest behind traditional food and souvenir stands.

At the Armbrustschützen-Festhalle (Crossbowmen Festival Hall) the Bavarian tradition has still an important influence. Enjoy freshly drafted beer and tasty treats while listening to live Bavarian brass music and with the special warm and happy atmosphere at the Oktoberfest.

History of the tent

In the year 1895 the tent was built by the crossbowmen-guild to entertain scorers and visitors. A further reason of building the tent was to carry out the shooting championship of the crossbowmen. Even after a few conversions and renovations, an eagle above the main entrance and an archer on the tower still remind of this tradition. For over 70 years now the German crossbow championships are carried out at the tent´s firing ranges during the Oktoberfest.
