Munich City Bike Marathon (April 09 and April 10, 2011)

On April 10 ambitious mountain bikers have the chance to overcome a 79 km route through Munich with a finish in the Olympic stadium. Spring Festival (April 29 to May 15, 2011, Theresienwiese)

For nearly half a century the springtime in Munich starts with the springtime Festival at the Theresienwiese. Besides the great fun factor and moderate prices, interesting events, such as the huge flea market, the vintage car meeting or the both family days, attract every year thousands of locals and tourists to the Theresienwiese.

Here you can get a brief overview of the events:

  • Opening (April 29, 2011, starting at 3 p.m. clock)
    Munich’s breweries and carnies will welcome you with a big brass band at the so-called “Zugspitze”on the northern side of the Theresienwiese.

    Expected 2,000 venders offer you a colorful selection of functional, funny, beautiful and sometimes strange objects at the biggest flea market of Bavaria.
  • The Vintage Car Meeting (May 01, 2011, starting at 9 a.m.)
    Here, every classic car lover will be amazed. About 1,000 nostalgic cars start at 11 a.m. an Oldtimer parade across the Theresienwiese.
  • Family days (03 and 10 May, 2011)
    On these both days, families can look forward to Bavarian dishes, a variety of stalls and dozens of rides with discounted prices.
  • Colorful fireworks (06 and 13 May, 2011)
    On both Fridays the Munich night sky is enlightened with a romantic fireworks show.
